Tayo Oviosu is the Founder and CEO of Paga, Nigeria’s leading mobile payment service. Prior to Paga he was Vice President at Travant Capital Partners where he was responsible for executing the firm‘s investment strategy in West Africa. He is currently an active angel investor and advisor in ReelFruit, a Nigerian fruit processing agribusiness; and ChopUp, a mobile gaming start-up. Alongside Paga’s numerous achievements, Tayo has been nominated for the West African Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2013 All African Business Leaders Awards. On this episode you'll learn: As a founder that’s actively making angel investments, how does Tayo think about constructing his angel portfolio and the strategy behind his investments? What has been Tayo's biggest lessons learned when it comes to fundraising and looking back, which round was the hardest to raise? Why does Tayo think international investors should seek out a local partner when investing in Nigerian startups?
